Drum handling is performed in an upright position by driving towards the full drum, positioning the grabber below the drum’s middle chime or rolling hoop. Upon contact, the grabber arms open upwards at an angle. Once the drum’s center is reached, the arms fall back into position, automatically securing the drum. The forklift operator lifts the drum grabber, ensuring the drum is securely held within the grabber arms. The drum is released by reversing the sequence during unloading.
