Liquitex Matte Varnish is a permanent, water-based acrylic polymer varnish that shields your painting against dirt, dust, moisture, and UV damage. This varnish is the ideal solution for unifying the sheen of your artwork. It eliminates uneven gloss spots often caused by different pigments, leaving a consistent, non-reflective matte finish. The liquid is milky/translucent when wet—allowing you to easily track your coverage—but dries completely clear and transparent. Usage Tips & Instructions: Stir, Don't Shake: The matting agents can settle at the bottom. Stir gently with a stick before use. Do not shake the bottle, as this introduces air bubbles which can ruin the clarity of the finish.Surface Prep: Ensure your acrylic painting is fully cured (wait 48–72 hours after painting) and the surface is free of dust before applying.Application: Use a wide, soft synthetic brush or a foam brush. Apply in long, even strokes. It is better to apply 1–2 thin coats rather than one thick coat.
